Dragon Hunter Kit
1/5

When I started this piece, I just wanted to design an original character and learn Blender. Two years later, after hundreds of hours of sculpting, texturing, and rendering, The Dragon Hunter became something much bigger. What began as a personal project turned into a complete dark-fantasy character — and now, a collectible mini statue you can actually hold.

This is a limited edition model and signed by me. I designed and sculpted the model, then it was expertly prepared for 3D print by James Doyle, formely of Weta Workshop collectibles. Each piece captures every surface detail from the original sculpt — the dragon-scale motifs, layered armor, ornate buckle, and subtle scar through the brow. I made this for fans and collectors like myself. If you love this kind of thing, consider collecting one. My wife would love to get these out of my garage.

About the piece

I wanted a character that felt lived-in. Someone who’s been through the journey, who carries pieces of that story on his armor. The result is a roguish hero wrapped in dragon leather, chain, and weathered cloth. He’s got grit, charm, and a presence that reads from across the room.

FAQ

Is the statue painted or unpainted?

The Dragon Hunter comes unpainted so you can bring your own style to it. I wanted collectors and miniature painters to have the freedom to customize it. Whether that means a full painted finish or leaving it raw to show the sculpt.

What material is it made from?

The statue is printed in high-quality resin, which captures fine surface detail; things like wrinkles, armor texture, and embossed scales. With clean edges and minimal prep needed before painting.

Can I paint it with regular model paints?

Yes. Any standard miniature paints or acrylics work great. Just make sure to start with a primer suited for resin models to help paint adhere evenly.

How limited is this edition?

This is a limited run, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Will you release more characters like this?

Probably. I love using my personal projects as a way to push my skills, so if this one resonates, there’ll be more from this world in the future.
